Treated Pine (ACQ or LOSP)
Treated pine is
designed to give long life because it has been treated for wet and dry rot and insect
attack. It is a product that is viewed as a renewable plantation
resource and because it is a quick growing tree it is a very cost effective plentiful
product . By using this product we can offer our whole range at a better price.
There is no arsenic in ACQ or LOSP treated pine making it an acceptable product to be used
in children’s play equipment and cubby houses.
We have been making cedar cubby houses and cedar garden sheds for 15 years and we always recommend the finished product be stained before, or as soon as it is installed. All timbers used outside will weather and go gray under the harsh Australian sun. We have, in conjunction with Quantum Timber Finishes, developed a superior water based stain “QUALITY CUBBIES CEDAR COATING STAIN”. This product is used on both cedar and pine cubbies to enhance the beauty of the timber and protect your investment from the weather. We recommend two coats of this quality product to prevent splitting and cracking of timbers as they dry out over time. When you buy a stained cubby from us, we spray two ample coats of this quality stain onto your cubby.
